CLASSES

Future Faces Performing Arts classes / rehearsals
Children are taught in 3 distinct age groups to ensure that tuition is appropriate and
relevant to them.

Drama
We find that even the shyest of youngsters often comes alive during drama lessons, as they explore emotions and situations from the safety of a fictional character, and we nurture this development as well as the skills we teach.

Students learn principles and skills related to Acting for the Stage, Screen and Radio through a wide range of
activities including improvisation and role play exercises, theatre games, script work, directing, physical theatre, script writing, staging etc.

Dance
Our dance classes always begin with safe, fun warm ups to loosen the limbs, get the heart pumping, and minimise any risk of strain. Likewise, we conclude lessons with warm downs. Children are encouraged to 'connect' with their bodies in order to understand the effects that exercise has on them.

Classes are often based around the popular Street Dance style, however, we often mix styles to broaden children's experiences and skills, bringing in basic tap, modern, hip hop and jazz, to name but a few! This also allows for children who think that they "can't dance" to explore different genres and find their own comfort zone!

Pupils are frequently guided to choreograph their own dances, and - as in all of our classes - they are encouraged to reflect on their work in order to improve and reach their potential in every lesson.

Singing/Voice
Vocal warm ups begin every singing session, and children are taught a variety of techniques to avoid straining their vocal chords, i.e. getting a sore throat!

The rest of the lesson is usually spent singing one or two songs from the pop charts, theatrical shows, 'classics' (e.g. The Beatles etc) and film/TV such as Glee. These songs are then developed in the following weeks, often for a Cabaret or Musical Show.

Students are encouraged to sing in groups and pairs as well as on their own, and important skills such as blending, projecting and (most importantly) acting a song are developed week on week.

On occasion, students have the opportunity to attend a professional Recording Studio to record their songs, receiving their own souvenier CDs.

Masterclasses
We understand that the more opportunites and experiences we can give our children, the more rounded an individual they will become, and it is for this reason that we offer Masterclasses to our pupils, e.g.

Professional Audio/Radio acting
Voiceover tecniques
Stage Combat
Film
Physical Theatre
Studio Recordings
